While they mutter between themselves, the party eventually notice a fifth person walking along the path. This young man, strange for the fact that that he has a set of feline ears and tail, introduces himself as Kit. Eventually, through much discussion, they conclude that, as they have the same goal, they should pool their resources and join forces.
With the sun inching higher and higher into the sky, the party assembles as follows:
- Kenku
- Mephis
- Gauronne
- Sarah
- Kit
[To avoid having to wait for any further discussion, I figured to set an order going on the basic heading of the discussion. Obviously, any major objections can be sorted out later. Kenku's a standard fighter, so should go near the front. Gauronne can take up the center, being the frailest of the characters, which should allow him to heal and the like. Mephis can act as fighter support, as he has reasonable equipment, including a lot of fire-protective gear. Sarah has a gun, so she can still be effective near the back of the party. Kit has a crossbow and a sword, so should be very effective as a rearguard.]
The dark mouth of the dungeon entrance consumes each member of the party into the inky blackness beyond. The thick, sticky webs of long-dead arachnids cocoon the party as the slip through the narrow entrance into the downward-sloping tunnel. A faint ominous murmur of living things grows as they slowly make the first few steps towards defeating Count Vladimir.
Walking in file down a short, slanting tunnel, the party quickly stumble on to a cross-roads. Stone-lined pathways extend in all four cardinal directions (N, E, S, W); the southward tunnel leads out of the dungeon. There is just enough light from outside to see; though the party will need to have another source of light should they need to venture farther.
*I take a paper and a pencil from my bag and, draw a map in the time we go inside the dungeon, taking the number of steps like a reference to the distance, using my ompass to orientate the map to the right way, leaving the alert and protection work to the others*
ReplyDeleteI will draw a map to don't get lost in there, if anyone need to look at it, only say to me..but i will need any light n aer to me
After strapping on his bracer and patting both of his swords (Yeah I'm a dual wielder) and stands at his 'position, taking a quick look over at the map. "If you need a light, let me know." he chuckles and pats his bags. "I Got you covered."
ReplyDeleteKit adjusts his ears so they are pointing to the sides, as he falls in behind the group, intent on focusing his hearing on the surrounding area. The purpose of this is to easier focus on sound his companions might not immediately pick up on. He stays silent, though readies his Crossbow to fire, should the moment arise.
ReplyDeleteGauronne is satisfied with the marching order. When Kit showed up, part of the discussion would be Gauronne's gentle inquiry regarding Kit acquired the ears and tail; he would not press the issue in the least, so if Kit chose not to explain, Gauronne would simply not and apologize for prying.
ReplyDeleteOOC: At least part of the reason for Gauronne's curiosity here is that an obviously-TFed person might conceivably be another of Vlad's mindzapped minions. Yes, the players know better, but I still think that might be a valid concern for the characters...
Will's armor stops clanking as he eyes the entrances through his visor. While he wished he had brought at least a torch, seeing one of the other with a flashlight was nice.
ReplyDeleteLooking down the passage ways, he says to the others "So any preference on where to go first?"
Gauronne will put his Lore skill to use: Specifically, can he tell which of the three alternative paths have any sort of magickal trap/residues on them? If he can tell whether there's any sort of magick on any of the paths, can he also provide any details regarding the type/intensity/etc of said magick?
ReplyDeleteIf the Lore skill yields any useful/relevant data, Gauronne will pass it along to the rest of the party. If not, well, learning about Vlad's magick is why Gauronne is here in the first place...
