With two strikes of his silver sword, William makes short work of the wererat, without the wererat managing to land a scratch; Gauronne therefore doesn't feel the need to cast Slumber.
[I figured that, had the battle raged onwards for more than two rounds, then Slumber would have been attempted.]
However, the wounds have left a lot of rather contagious lycanthropic blood pooling around, some even ending up on the party, aerosolized by the strikes on the anthropomorphic rodent. What effect, if any, that this has is unknown at this point...
At any rate, with the current immediate crisis out of the way, there is the magic grated wall to consider, as well as what else may lie around the next corner. Of course, the party could always backtrack and consider taking another avenue as well.

Look around, trying to see something more in this place, i run my fingers on the wallto don't forget the direction from we come
ReplyDelete"Well...i think you must take off that blood of your sword and skin , maybe can be bad for yourself *say to William taking a bottle of water from my bag*
Kit moves in close to the blood, and dips the tip of one of his bolts in the blood, thinking it could prove useful at a later time. He then goes to the magic grate and stands next to Sarah, before placing his hand on it as well.
ReplyDeleteOOC: Whoa... I take a personal day (or few) and bamf.. another fight! I gotta keep an eye on this stuff.
ReplyDeleteCoughing a little at the rather musky air after the fight, Mephis whistles at how quick William had dispatched the rodent. "That's .. seriously quick work I must say. Very nice job uhh erm.. William was it?"
OOC: Hmmm... the spell list doesn't seem to include anything in the neighborhood of "Cleanse" or "Wash" or "Purify", as best I can tell. Try this on for size, Automata:

Cleanse [0/N]: Affects any single target. When cast, all grunge (dirt/grime/oil/etc) is removed frorm the target (including whatever they're wearing/carrying), thus making said target spotlessly clean. MP cost is 0 if the grunge is not magickal; if the grunge is magickal, the caster must burn at least one MP to expunge any residual 'taint' which the grunge would otherwise have left on the target.

You like? You no like?
Gauronne will put his Lore skill to use -- how likely is it that traces of aerosolized lycanthrope blood are hazardous, and if that stuff actually is something to worry about, just how serious/immediate a problem is it? [it's entirely possible that Gauronne would know the answer right off, just because; alas, I (Cubist) do not have G's vast fund of knowledge...]
If the lycanthope blood is indeed something to worry about... hmmm... looking in the L1-3 spell lists, the most promising candidates for anti-'thrope treatment would seem to be [a] Siphon (drain off MP from the 'thrope blood), [b] Dispel (maybe -- assumes that Vlad-spawned lycanthropy qualifies as a spell rather than a poison or disease), and [c] Cure Poison (based on the questionable assumption that what we're dealing with counts as poison). Yuck -- not good. Well, whatever else happens, Gauronne will be taking copious notes and recording everything on his SLG Stone...
Anywho, the old fart is going to do whatever investigation he can, with emphasis on the question of whether or not there are responses which might actually make the 'thrope-blood more hazardous than it is.
One last query: Can Gauronne tell anything about what sort of magick is on the grated wall, and/or what kind of actions/conditions might trigger the wall's magick?
"That would be a good idea" William says as he caught his breath, and flicked his sword to clear it as best as he can without water first. He then takes out one of his own water satchels and begins to wash off the blood as best as he can.
ReplyDelete[OOC: Xandre and I typed up a bit of an exchange between Sarah and Kit, but for the life of me I cannot remember if he wanted me to post it instead of him, or not. Also, the question was raised as to whether or not Sarah is capable of seeing the magic grate, due to her lack of points put in the Arcane skill. I believed it to be possible, but could potentially vary depending on if it were a magically-infused grate, or a grate formed out of pure magic as a sort of.. barrier with holes.]
