Whilst Sarah screams and draws out her pepper spray, screaming various questions and hoping one of the others will be able to revive the now-dead monstrous ex-human, Mephis and Gauronne contemplate the latter's new golden appendage.
[Gauronne casts Healing of 5 HP at a cost of 10 MP]
After healing himself, and berating Mephis for jabbing at it, Gauronne continues to examine the taxi driver. There isn't anything more he finds out, however: upon his casting of the Alchemy spell, the curse had completed, and whatever force had taken over the man's mind had either been destroyed or had escaped; it had been this force which had caused the transformation to his hand. Whether it was the last stand of a doomed malevolence, or simply an irritated rebuffing by a sorceror, it is impossible to say now.
Gauronne turns his attention to his hand: Mephis' interactions and his own observations conclude that his fist is now essentially a golden lump, for he does not seem to be able to move any fingers or feel anything on that hand. It becomes apparent to him through his vast learnings that a simple Dispel should at least revitalize the hand [MP cost of 5] to mobility, although there may be a few residual effects.
After the party make a few introductions, Sarah brings up the question: how to get the trunk open?
[Remember: the taxi driver swallowed the key. Therefore, the key may now be trapped inside a large lump of gold...]

Sighing and rubbing the back of his head, his ears folded back in embarassment. "Ah.. sorry about that Gau.. ga.. Gauronne...? Ah.. Gauronne." he l;ooks abour sheepishly. "My name is Mephis... and sorry for poking it.. but .. it seems to the both of us that you have a solid gold hand.. now wether you want to profit from it or ... have a way to turn it back... I don't beleive I have the ability to do so... do you?"
ReplyDeleteOOC: "ears folded back"? Hmm. I'd been under the impression that the characters in this game were supposed to start out as normal humans – the only question was how long they’d stay that way. Could you please provide a physical description, so’s we all know what we’re dealing with here, Mephis?
ReplyDeleteWhen Mephis mentions the possibility of profiting from his golden hand, Gauronne looks a slightly disappointed. He says to Mephis in a gentle tone, “Had financial gain been my intent, I could have transmuted our driver’s body completely into gold.” After a short pause to let that sink in, Gauronne continues: “Be that as it may, I believe I may be able to restore my hand, at least in part. Let me see…” And with those words, Gauronne burns 5 more MP, in an attempt to Dispel the gold off of his hand. If it works 100%, great; if it ‘merely’ restores mobility and/or dexterity to my golden hand, that’s acceptable; if something else happens, well, we shall just have to see how it goes.
Next on Gauronne’s agenda: Try to calm and/or comfort the distraught woman with the pepper spray. “Miss, I believe the danger is past. Would you care to introduce yourself? The gentleman I was speaking to just nrecently is Mephis, and I am Gauronne.”
OOC:Actually, my character isn't human at all. But if it's not allowed, I can switch to bein' a human again. Otherwise, I actually have a visual interpretation here: http://i50.photobucket.com/albums/f333/MephisLight/1204495457rei-chan_character_sheet1.jpg ... wow that is THE biggest pain in my arse ever to type
ReplyDeleteChuckles and scratches the back of his head in embarassment. "Hey.. I didn't mean that you know.. Sheesh.. take a joke..." and almost bites his lip when, if his hand had turned to gold, he highly doubted he'd be in a joking mood, and follows in-step to the hysterical female with the small can.
You think that? Why you think that? Can you feel it?
ReplyDelete*say nervous*
I'm Sarah..Sarah Bluethorne...i'm a student of psychology at the university..
what happened to him? *point with afinger to the golden driuver* i can't understand anything *say trying to calm herself*
*she trembles abit but put my spray in my pocket again slowly*
OOC: No worries, Mephis; I may have misinterpreted something. If the human-or-not thing makes any difference, I'm sure Automata will say something...
ReplyDelete"Sarah, I believe the danger is past because the curse which afflicted our driver has run its course -- because of that curse, he is in no sense human any longer. The reason I can say as much is, I have spent much of my adult life studying the uses of magic, and therefore have a certain degree of familiarity with the manifestations of enchantment.
"Now, Sarah, I believe you had enquired as to how we are to open the trunk. Our driver swallowed the key immediately prior to his unfortunate transformation, so the question is more difficult than one might at first presume. Perhaps there is a second key, concealed somewhere in or on the vehicle? Failing that, perhaps we may be able to either force the lock or else gain access to the trunk by going behind the rear seats."
