TFDC is a role-playing blog, based on the old Ultima/Might and Magic/Wizardry and other old dungeon-crawling RPGs. The focus is the same: fight monsters, gain XP, solve puzzles, beat the bad guy.
However, this game has a general theme of transformation: so, the adventuring party is quite likely to meet up with werewolves and minotaurs rather than orcs and skeletons, and the rats may have originally been adventurers who failed on early attempts.
