Late Afternoon, Day Two - Part 2

Main Party

[Kit and Gauronne cast Probe at a cost (for each) of 1 MP]

Kit and Gauronne learn that there is no danger in taking the shield; it is being held on the wall by a giant metal nail used for such purposes. The shield itself is well-formed and apparently well-maintained, but other than that appears to be just a normal shield.

Because they both determine that it is safe, Kit decides to take the shield.

[Kit acquires a Polished Silver Shield]

New Party

Reginald and Ferron move along the western branch until they hit the wall again; along the way they come across the body of a large dead ogre with a giant wooden club still gripped in his loosely clenched fist.

[I just realized that you might have wanted to stop at the "chapel" and had a look around; if you do, that's fine; I can take you back there.]

[As for warnings for traps and the like: if you spot it, you don't trip it and get given a warning. The amount of warning depends on the nature of the trap and your characters' attributes in particular areas.]

[Cubist: Yeah, I do agree on the puzzle thing, but I just wanted to check things out with you guys first. Though just be aware, I can come up with some very complex puzzles, so I hope you guys like a challenge!]

  1. [OOC:In truth I wouldn't overvalue either side. Combat here is easy to do blog style since there is no need to go "I Attack!, I Attack!, I Attack!" and response time is not to bad.]

William heads up out the passageway and starts to walk in the direction of the unknown area of the map, wondering if there are any other interesting things down that passageway.

  2. OOC: I'm all in for a challenge. I'd probably spend more time thinking about it though then my studies XD
But yes, I enjoy the battle stuff, though it is a little easy when everyone just as to say "ATTACK!"
Might be more interesting with harder monsters
    >^w^<

James finishes copying the map and sketching the shield, then proceeds to follow Will.

  3. OOC I'm game for puzzles but seeing as my char is fairly combat oriented that's awesome too. A feww good fights might disperse the challenges rather nicely.

Ferron looks around, not noticing anything interesting in either direction, except for the dead ogre thing of course, but sidestepping around that... Ferron pulls out his compass noting the directions of each path (north and south).Turning to Reginald,

"Let's go north. We'll never find anything if we don't go deeper in." Ferron replies, getting caught up in the excitement of exploring a deep dark dungeon of doom.

  4. Sarah to the intersection 9 and then continues walking indirection to the intersection 1, looks like in that way is a point with any kind of zone without explore r maybe a door to explore the uunexplored part of the dungeon to the north, walk without any worry because that zone is clean*

  5. Kit takes time to admire the shield. "I wonder. If you'd have silver items needed to unlock a panel - assuming things would unlock said panel - what kind of great treasure would you be locking up?"

  6. [OOC: I'm game for puzzles XP
Seriously though, I love a good puzzle quest, even more so when battles get in the way, so I'm in favour of it all

Reginald steps around the golden ogre ogre, now laying on the dungeon floor. He thinks quickly about the likely hood that who or whatever did this to this ogre is playing for the good team, but then thinks to examine the scene a bit more before proceeding. Unhinging the lantern and retrieving his lighter, Reginald lights the lantern and holds it above the ogre.

The doorway to what looks like a mockery of a chapel shows a dark room with little to no light, darkness unwillingly being chased out of nearby corners as the lantern swung. Candles rest in candlestick holders but there is no flame atop their wicks. Backing away from the entrance to the empty hall, Reginald walks back to Ferron's location.

"Did you see that place back there? Looked like a chapel of sorts... I'm not sure, mind you, but it seemed a might... intentionally fake. This golden ogre, however, now THAT looks like the handy work of a man on our side. Or woman." Reginald looked north, looked south, and looked north again.

"I think venturing into the heart of the matter is good plan. We might meet up with the sculptor of our little friend on the floor, and he might be of use to us. North it is."

Reginald opens the door, unlocked, and beckons Ferron have first crack at crossing the threshold.
