The party manages to pull everyone and everything up with them.
They discover themselves in the middle of a room, with a large amount of spinning plates on the floor, that rotate and swirl around. The rope hangs down the hole in the center of this room, where there is a small stationary ledge (which is now very crowded with the number of people in the party).
A door lies to the north.
[The room is about 3 x 3 "squares" in width (using the old maps for reference). The plates are spinning around in such a way that anyone wishing to cross over will have to be very quick on their feet, or get spun around and suffer damage. The pattern of movement is in concentric rings leading to the edge, with each floor plate spinning separately in a random pattern.]

The archivist backs away nervously from the oscillating floor, almost tripping over his robe as he does so. He will have a great deal of difficulty crossing such an obstacle.
ReplyDeleteHe eyes the door, and removes a long rope from his pack, before pulling up the one connected to the floor.
"Perhaps if I tie these ropes together, the fastest of us could cross the room and tie it to the doorknob? I think I can cast Change Miscellaneous Object to turn it to stone, and then the less agile of us could shimmy up the new angled pole, rather than risk that floor."
He nudges Garg towards the spinning discs meaningfully. Garg looks up at him with an expression of weary resignation.
"Glurf (translation: not on your life, pinky)"
(If this is acceptable, I'd like to try that, automata. If any of us still can't safely shimmy up the pole, I could try a round of Buff Nimbleness +2 as well)
James looks at the plates swirling around the room. He looks to see what might be below the plates, or if there is even a below the plates "umm... I could see someone making it across without too much difficulty... but carrying a rope along with them? Could get caught on something and pull them down... there..."
ReplyDeleteHe stays close to the edge and looks back at the party "Does someone think they can fire an arrow instead? that could make it over and lodge in something for the pole shimmy thing"
